St Peters Church Spire Stablisation (Lutton Place)

  • Project: St Peters Church Spire Stablisation (Lutton Place)
  • Year of completion: 2001
  • Client: The Church
  • Architect: Bob Anderson Architect

This project consisted of the stabilisation of the spire to the church. This included the replacement of the finial and the tension bar and cross-trees. In addition wrought-iron cramps in the stonework originally inserted to provide tension rings were found to have corroded. This had led to the stone cracking and to restore the structural integrity of the spire these were cut out and the stone replaced with new internal steel rings rings taking the tension.
