David Narro

David is a Chartered Structural and Civil Engineer and Chairman of, David Narro Associates, which he started in 1986. David has been an advisor to the Edinburgh New Town Conservation Committee and Historic Scotland on their publications, serves on the RIAS Conservation Committee and is an external tutor at the University of Edinburgh, Department of Architecture.David was a Board Member of the Scottish Registration Board dealing with applications to become Approved Certifiers from 2005-2014, is an auditor under the scheme and an Approved Certifier of Design. He was Chairman of the Scottish Branch of the Institution of Structural Engineers and served on the Council, the Professional Conduct Committee and the Strategy Study Steering Group of the Institution of Structural Engineers in London. David was elected to Council 2006-2009.

David has a personal interest in the structural challenges posed by modern architecture. He has acquired a great deal of expertise in the conservation of historic buildings and has advised clients, government bodies and architects. The combination of these specific fields has led to extensive experience of modern interventions to old buildings.
