Steve Wood

Steve is a Chartered Structural Engineer, Conservation Accredited Engineer and Technical Director based in Edinburgh. He joined David Narro Associates in 2007. In 2005, Steve was awarded a Scholarship by The Society for the Protection of Ancient Buildings (SPAB) and to date remains closely involved with the Society.

Steve has a special interest in the exisiting built environment, from the careful conservation of ancient monuments and structures to the adapatation and re-use of buildings. His experience and wider interests have given him a thorough knowledge of historic and modern building forms and techniques, ranging from complex structural appraisals of internationally recognised buildings such as St. Paul's Cathedral to the sensitive repair of traditional clay-mortared farmsteads on Orkney. Steve has also worked on full refurbishments of buildings that have required significant intervention, for example The Great Eastern Hotel, London and St. Cecilia's Hall, Edinburgh.

Steve is currently a Trustee of The Unicorn Preservation Society. Launched in 1824, the frigate Unicornis Scotland's only preserved warship and is the most original old ship in the world.
