Hope Terrace

The remit of this project was to: reconfigure and extend the existing kitchen and dining space of this Georgian villa; increase the amount of natural light making its way into the interior; improve the physical and visual connections to the garden.

The new extension structure atop a rebuilt plinth contains complex and largely concealed steelwork which holds up the heavy stone upper-storey. The steel columns supporting the new structure go a long way down into the new foundations ensuring there is no sinking.  The thin edged cantilever roof was also made possible by structural steel.
