Provision of structural engineering services for the proposed stabilisation of Logie Old Kirk. The project comprises the consolidation and stabilisation of the surviving fabric of the Kirk. Two walls of the Kirk are Scheduled Ancient Monuments, and the proposed works to the other parts require Listed Building Consent.
The overriding structural principle behind the consolidation works is to return the walls of the building back to being solid stone masonry construction. Once this has been achieved, those defects and issues that if left unchecked could lead to the deterioration of the wall will be dealt with.
The works will include the killing off and removal of any deeply rooted vegetation, stone replacement and possibly grouting wall cores, pointing, protection of the wall heads and the removal of any corroding metalwork.
